Ed Sheeran revealed he had proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, in a heartfelt Instagram post in January.
"Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well," he captioned a photo of the pair cuddling.
All was quiet on the 'wedding news' front until Ed showed up to the 2018 BRIT Awards, wearing a silver band on his ring finger that sparked speculation the couple had already tied the knot in secret.
However, in a red carpet interview with British talk show Lorraine, the 27-year-old revealed the truth about the ring. In the video, shared on Twitter yesterday, the singer says he considers the band his own "engagement ring" and revealed it was hand-made by his fiancé.
"I never saw why men didn’t wear engagement rings. It’s the same commitment either way,” he explained. "Cherry made it for me herself out of silver clay. I really like it."
A source told The Sun that Ed was "amused by the fuss [the ring has] caused, however has no intentions of taking it off." We love Ed's engagement ring, and can't wait to see the romantic trend take off!
Following his red carpet interviews, the singer performed a moving rendition of his song Supermarket Flowers - a tribute song for his late grandmother - and it will honestly bring you to tears.
