The HBO movie "Paterno" finally has a premiere date.

The film, featuring Al Pacino as late Penn State coach Joe Paterno, will air on April 7.

According to HBO, "Paterno" centers on the former coach in the aftermath of the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal. After becoming the winningest coach in college football history, Paterno's legacy is challenged and he is forced to face questions of institutional failure in regard to the victims.

"Paterno" is also not a biopic spanning years of the coach's life. It zeroes in on a two-week period and lets the audience make its own judgment, director Barry Levinson said.

"Joe Paterno was known as an honorable man, an educator, a humanitarian -- so trying to make sense out of what happened is, for me, the most fascinating aspect of the story," he said. "What did he understand? What did he not understand?"

The latest trailer gives the most in-depth look at the movie yet. You can watch the preview above.
